Recently, FST successfully completed the manufacturing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), packaging, and shipment of 24 sets of Wellhead Control Panels (WHCPs) together with their corresponding Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs) for the TFT II / TFT Sud Gas Field Development Project in Algeria, EPC-contracted by China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC).
The equipment will be transported by sea to the project site in the Sahara Desert, where it will provide reliable wellhead safety and automation solutions for one of Algeria's major natural gas expansion projects.

Wellhead Control Panels (WHCP) and Hydraulic Power Units (HPU)
The project is jointly owned by Groupement TFT (GTFT), a joint venture between Sonatrach and TotalEnergies, and forms part of Algeria's strategic natural gas production expansion program.
Located deep within the Sahara Desert, the project faces some of the world's most demanding environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, severe sandstorms, and highly corrosive operating environments. These conditions require exceptional equipment reliability, corrosion resistance, and safety performance.
Based on the project's complete Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment datasheets, Algerian oil & gas regulations, and international standards including API, ASME, and hazardous-area requirements, FST delivered a fully customized solution comprising:
* 24 Wellhead Control Panels (WHCPs)
* 24 Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs)
* 1 dedicated HPU for isolation well operations
* Nitrogen charging kits
* Commissioning spare parts
* Two-year operational spare parts package
* Complete bilingual technical documentation (English & French)
* Special maintenance tools
* On-site commissioning and operator training services
To ensure reliable operation under the harsh Sahara conditions, the integrated WHCP and HPU packages incorporate multiple customized engineering features:
* Heavy-duty corrosion protection system designed to withstand severe sand erosion and extreme day-night temperature fluctuations.
* Redundant hydraulic architecture with fail-safe accumulator backup capable of automatically shutting down wellhead valves in the event of power failure or hydraulic line malfunction.
* Modular integrated design allowing seamless communication with the project's DCS and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems, enabling centralized remote wellsite monitoring and emergency shutdown functions.
* Expansion-ready architecture with reserved interfaces for future production increases and field development without requiring replacement of the complete system.

Functions And Features
01 Customized Design for Extreme Desert Conditions
Designed specifically for Sahara Desert service, the equipment operates reliably within an ambient temperature range of -5°C to +70°C, while withstanding low atmospheric pressure, strong sandstorms, and continuous dust exposure.
Protective coatings comply with project-specific coating specifications, while enclosure protection achieves a high IP rating. Piping, valves, and structural materials are selected to resist sand abrasion, thermal cycling, and corrosion in accordance with Algerian oil & gas industry requirements.
02 High Safety and Reliability
Redundant Hydraulic System with Emergency Actuation
Critical hydraulic circuits are designed with redundancy and equipped with independent accumulator banks serving as emergency power sources.
During power loss or other abnormal operating conditions, the accumulators maintain hydraulic pressure and automatically actuate the wellhead safety valves, ensuring the safe shutdown and protection of the production system.
03 Comprehensive International Compliance
The system is designed and manufactured in accordance with internationally recognized industry standards, including:
* API Standards
* ASME B31.3 Process Piping
* ASME Section VIII Pressure Vessel Code
* IECEx / ATEX requirements for hazardous areas
* NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sulfide stress cracking resistance
The equipment also complies with Algerian oil & gas regulatory requirements and has successfully obtained ARH approval, meeting local project qualification and market access requirements.
04 Rigorous Quality Assurance
Manufacturing is fully controlled under the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
A comprehensive three-level inspection process is implemented throughout material procurement, fabrication, welding, heat treatment, pressure testing, and surface treatment.
The project supports both client and third-party Source Inspection Plans (SIP), with complete traceability maintained for welding records, non-destructive examination (NDE), heat treatment, hydrostatic testing, and all subcontractor quality documentation.
05 Long-Term Warranty and Lifecycle Support
The equipment is covered by a dual warranty period of 12 months after site acceptance or 18 months from shipment, whichever occurs first.
FST also provides comprehensive lifecycle support, including overseas commissioning, on-site operator training, and long-term spare parts services through its dedicated international service team.
06 Modular Architecture for Future Expansion
Both the WHCP and HPU feature a modular configuration with reserved expansion interfaces, allowing additional control valves and increased hydraulic capacity to be incorporated as future production requirements evolve. This flexible design minimizes future modification costs while supporting long-term field development plans.
